Liza Barskaya

Liza Barskaya grew up in Los Angeles where she primarily trained at the Jonette Swider Dance Center and with Stefan Wenta. Liza attended summer programs for American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet and Ballet Austin. She joined Ballet Austin as a Professional Division Trainee from 2010-2012 and then relocated to NYC before returning to LA. Liza has performed with the Martha Graham Dance Company, Ballet Austin, L.A. Choreographers and Dancers/Louise Reichlin and Dancers, Dances Patrelle, American Swiss Ballet, Homo Veritas Dance Theatre and C.O.S.M.I.C. Dance Crew. She has both performed and choreographed for Creating Higher Ground and Independent Opera Company where she directed IOC's "Orfeo ed Euridice". Liza has choreographed for Red Brick Road Theatre Company and Endeavor Theatre Ensemble on their musical production of "I Love You, Because". In addition to stage work Liza performed in John Tesh's documentary and performance tour, "Alive: Music and Dance" and in Red Hot Organization's "Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell". This is Liza's first season with Benita Bike's DanceArt.
